Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is non-surgical treatment for various musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiopulmonary disorders that result in pain, stiffness, weakness, and overall decreased quality of life. Orthopedic physical therapy focuses more on injuries to bones, tendons, muscles, and ligaments. Our practice also provides post-operative rehabilitation and rehabilitation for certain neurological conditions.
Our clinicians specialize in:
Manual Therapy including Spinal/Joint Manipulation
Our clinicians can use their hands to safely move joints and stretch muscles for our patients. Manual therapy provides patients with fast pain relief, improved flexibility, and increased function. Our therapists at Advantage Physical Therapy are highly trained in manual therapy techniques and are constantly working on their clinical skills.
Instrument-assisted Soft Tissue Massage
Our clinicians use the latest technology including Theragun and Edge tools to work on tight muscles that can cause pain, stiffness, and weakness to surrounding joints. This type of manual therapy helps patients feel better and move better faster.
Kinesiotaping
K-tape is a useful tool our clinicians use on patients to improve posture and increase functional movement of a specific joint. We commonly use K-tape on the knee and the ankle to help restore normal function for patients with knee cap issues and foot/ankle pain.
Electric Stimulation
Electric Stimulation or TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is used in our clinic to decrease pain and increase blood flow to a specific joint or area of the body. We often combine TENS with heat or cold therapy in the beginning and/or end of a treatment session.
Return to Work Hardening
For our patients that cannot work due to injury, we train them to get back to work in the shortest amount of time possible. Our clinicians can use equipment and creativity to simulate the physical demands of work to ensure our patients are prepared for return to full duty.
